Preston Standee

Preston

Preston, born at 25 weeks and weighing only 1 pound 3 ounces, was a micro-preemie who spent 141 days in the NICU at Lauren Small Children's Center at Memorial. His underdeveloped lungs required ventilator support to save his fragile life. Despite the shock of his early birth, Preston's parents remained calm and focused on providing him with the love and care he needed.

The NICU team at Memorial worked tirelessly to save Preston's life, and his parents are deeply grateful for their efforts. The family's most cherished memory of their time at Memorial was the feeling of being part of a family and knowing that Preston was deeply cared for.

At one year old, Preston is thriving and reaching all his developmental milestones. His specialists are pleased with his progress, and his parents are incredibly proud of his resilience and determination.

Preston's mom emphasizes the importance of supporting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) and the Lauren Small Children's Center at Memorial. She believes that these organizations provide vital support and create a sense of community for families facing similar challenges. She stresses that children are our future and that investing in their health and well-being is crucial for creating a better society.
